Animals Never Thought of Being Poisonous By Henry Funk

Animal world is the living environment with a full of various species from mammals to insects. However, there are animals which are often considered to be harmless are actually poisonous. Let's find out more information about such animals:

The Pitohui is one of New Guinea's most widely spread birds and is the only known genus of poisonous bird in the world. At least three species of pitohui have a strong poison in their skin and feathers, the Hooded and Variable Pit.

The Platypus is a semi-aquatic mammal endemic to eastern Australia and is considered to be the world's most poisonous mammal.

The solenodon, the primitive insectivore, is still present in areas of stony forest in the northeastern area of Haiti. They are also the rare animals but one of the most poisonous animals of the world.

At least 1250, and possibly over 1600 species of catfish in the world are proved to be poisonous, but their poison is just used when they are attacked.

The shrew mouse has two cutting teeth in each jaw, pointing forward, a long slender nose, small rounded ears, and five toes on each foot. However, they are also known as the poisonous animal and its poison can disable man's body.
